Lychee Slicer 7.1 Adds Wi-Fi Capabilities, Improves Slicing for Bambu Lab Printers and More

The update focuses on expanding support for new 3D printers, file types, and Wi-Fi, and gives users an extra 10 free days of Lychee Slicer Plus.

Lychee has released Lychee Slicer 7.1, a major update with new features and changes that both broaden and streamline the slicing software’s capabilities.

Front and center, for example, is compatibility with a trio of Anycubic resin 3D printers: the Photon Mono M7, Photon Mono M4, and Photon Mono M4 Ultra. here’s also added support for the SDCP 3.0 Wi-Fi protocol, which will enable users to transfer files to new 3D printers like the Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra and Mars 5 Ultra, as well as pause or cancel prints from within Lychee Slicer. On top of that, users can now use Wi-Fi to send files directly to their printers.

Newly implemented fast-slicing compatibility with .goo and .prz files means users can leverage the feature with all Elegoo and Phrozen machines, while support for the 3MF file format printers should work to boost slicing effectiveness and efficiency for Bambu Lab X1, P1P, P1S, A1, and A1 Mini printers.

Improvements new to Lychee Slicer 7.1 work to make the user experience better, such as in the “Export As” and “Save Now” menus, which have been redesigned to make selecting an exporting option easier and reduce navigation, respectively.

The “Planar Cut” tool has also been tweaked, with users now able to more precisely set cut height, angle, and plane, as has overhang visualization, which now defaults to a “checkerboard pattern” that aims to help users more easily check for printability and position supports.

The full list of features, improvements, and fixes is too expansive to list here, so do be sure to check out Lychee Slicer 7.1’s release notes for the entire scoop. As an added bonus, any user who updates to Lychee Slicer 7.1 will receive an extra 10-day trial of Lychee Slicer Plus – even if they’ve already used their initial 30 days.
